Your home away from home
Near the turn of the crystal-clear Idrijca river which is the perfect spot for fly-fishing or relaxing, you will find our beautiful garden that will lead you to our apartment. Although the apartment is newly remodeled, you will still find some old details and of course the typical and traditional Idrija lace. The apartment is 80m2 big and has a bright and open living room with a flat-screen TV and a cozy sofa, 2 big and spacious bedrooms, a small kitchen and a private bathroom with a shower. The apartment has new air-conditioning which will make your summer stay even nicer. In wintertime, the central heating will warm the apartment. High-speed WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge. The apartment comes all equipped with towels and bed linen. We also offer you space to dry all your suits after a day of fishing or swimming. Free parking in front of the apartment building is also available at all times.
For a perfect start of the day, you can pick up the local Idrija breakfast just a few meters away. For sure worth it!

As our guests, you can relax in our peaceful and spacious garden with a summer kitchen, BBQ and of course the beach of the river Idrijca. You can swim, kayak, and enjoy the beauty and calmness of the surrounding nature.
It will take you only 5 minute’s drive to visit the oldest Slovenian mining town of Idrija, where you can take unforgettable guided tours of the old mercury mines, admire the Miner’s house and its unique architecture and be amazed by Kamšt, wooden water wheel, a jewel of Slovenian technical heritage. If you want to take a really good swim in a natural pool, Lajšt will be your next stop.
And don’t forget to try the local drinks (geruš – a traditional bitter spirituous wormwood beverage, Idrija miners’ drink) and cuisine – especially Idrija žlikrofi which is a Slovenian national dish with a protected status made from dough with a potato filling and a characteristic ravioli shape. A 5-minute drive to Idrija will satisfy even our gourmet guests since a few restaurants there got noticed by Michelin.
Because of the great location in Slovenia, it will only take you 1-hour drive to the world-famous Postojna cave and Predjama grad, world largest cave castle. It will also take you only 1 hour to drive to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, and a little more than 1 hour to the slovenian or italian seaside.

Branka, the owner of the property, travelled a lot in the past with her husband, two of her three sons are living abroad. She has good memories of travelling, of feeling at home somewhere else but she also liked coming home to her beautiful tranquil place in Spodnja Idrija. While the house is big, she and her sons want to offer this experience to you. She wants you to discover the beauty and kindness of Slovenia from her house.
Daphne worked in the past in tourism and started living in Slovenia 17 Years ago. She loves the nature in Slovenia and how small it is. You can be in one hour from the seaside to the capital Ljubljana or in the mountains, whatever your heart desires. She will answer your calls, write you back and be there to welcome you.
